Footage of a helicopter flying over a large circular structure in the Gümüşhane area of Turkey sparked curiosity and rumors among local residents, who suspected it was a "treasure hunt."

Turkish media reports that the truth turned out to be quite different, as the helicopter was part of the "Aerial Electromagnetic Geophysical Survey" project, organized by the Minerals Technical Research (MTA), with the aim of identifying the region's metallic mineral potential from the air.

The helicopter was equipped with advanced geophysical sensors capable of collecting data from the air. This data is used to create two- and three-dimensional models of the subsurface, which help identify areas of interest for mineral resources.

The technology used was described as a type of "airborne X-ray", allowing the detection without direct intervention in the field of hidden mineral deposits.

During 2025, as part of this project in Turkey, 15,250 kilometers of aerial geophysical surveys are expected to be carried out in several regions of the country, including Gümüşhane, which is known for its underground resources.
