At the height of the crisis, oil spills into the Gorishova stream, residents raise the alarm about pollution

As the country faces high fuel prices and a crisis in the hydrocarbon sector, in the Cakran administrative unit of Fier, oil is being spilled uncontrollably, causing severe pollution.
Residents of the area report to the media that for three days the stream of the village of Gorishovë has been polluted with hydrocarbons. According to them, the water has taken on a dark color and is accompanied by a strong smell of oil, making daily life difficult.
The community says the pollution is directly damaging agricultural lands and crops, putting at risk the incomes of families who depend on agriculture. They suspect the emissions are related to oil extraction activities in the area and dispute claims that it is solar, insisting that it is crude oil.
The concern grows even further because the polluted stream flows into the Vjosa River , one of the country's most important natural resources, risking the spread of pollution to a wider area.
Residents call on institutions to react immediately to stop this situation, demanding concrete measures to protect the environment and their health.
