The American military base in Iraq is attacked, 5 marines are injured

Seven Americans were injured Monday night by a rocket attack on a military base in Iraq.

This was announced today by an American official, a few days after the death of four pro-Iranian Iraqi fighters from an American attack.

"Five soldiers and two workers were injured in the two-missile attack on the Ain al-Assad air base ," said the source, who asked not to be named.

Five of the wounded are being treated at the base, while two have been transferred elsewhere, he said, clarifying that their lives are not in danger.

The Pentagon attributed the attack to paramilitary groups linked to Iran.
