US embassy in Baghdad attacked with drone

The US embassy in Baghdad has been attacked by drones. According to  foreign media,  three Iraqi security officials said a missile hit a helicopter landing site at the US embassy compound in Baghdad. They spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to comment publicly.

No casualties were reported. Baghdad's Green Zone, which houses government offices and diplomatic missions, has been attacked in the past, but this was the first reported strike there in the week since the start of Israeli and US airstrikes on Tehran, which sparked war in the Middle East.

Iran has launched dozens of attacks on US military bases and other facilities in Iraq. They have also struck bases of Iranian Kurdish opposition groups operating in northern Iraq.
