"Seven ballistic missiles were successfully intercepted by air defense systems, as well as five drones by the Qatari Air Force and Navy, which targeted several areas of the state today," the ministry added.

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump left open the possibility of sending US troops to the ground in Iran "if necessary," and said he was not swayed by polls showing disapproval of the attacks.
“I have no objection to troops on the ground — as every president says, ‘There will be no troops on the ground.’ I don’t say that,” Trump told the New York Post on Monday. “I say ‘maybe we don’t need them’ or ‘if they were needed.’”
A Reuters/Ipsos poll over the weekend showed that 43% of Americans disapprove of attacks on Iran, and Trump suggested he was not worried, stressing that he must "do the right thing."
