Iranian Opposition Proclaims Interim Government from Durrës: Tyranny Died with Khamenei's Death! Our People Want a Secular and Free State and a Democratic Republic

Maryam Rajavi, president of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, has reacted from Durrës to the war that has begun in Iran and the death of the leader of the Islamic republic, Ali Khamenei, welcoming international intervention.
From the "Arshraf 3" camp in the village of Manez, she has declared the Transitional Period to hand over sovereignty to the people of Iran, emphasizing that Khamenei's death is the death of religious tyranny and the end of the Velayat-e Faqih regime.
"Now is the time to establish the freedom and sovereignty of the people of Iran," she said.
"As the Iranian people demonstrated during the January uprising, they seek a future based on a democratic republic and reject both the tyrannical mullahs and the dictatorial Shah. I declare to the international community that only the people of Iran have the legitimacy to determine the political future of their country."
President Maryam Rajavi says the Iranian people have written their destiny with the blood of their brave sons and daughters. According to her, Iranians need their own state, not money or foreign interference on Iranian soil.
In the name of the Resistance of the Iranian people, she has declared:
"Based on the Ten-Point Plan for the transfer of sovereignty to the people of Iran, the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) has announced the formation of an interim government. The precursor to the announcement of an interim government dates back to October 1981."
Maryam Rajavi has stated that now is the time for solidarity and unity against what she calls remnants of religious dictatorship and monarchical fascism who seek to steal the democratic revolution and the product of 47 years of suffering and sacrifice from the Iranian people.
The statement emphasizes that the NCRI, the most stable democratic and independent coalition in Iran's history, relying on a Resistance of 100,000 martyrs for freedom, presented the National Solidarity Front plan 24 years ago based on strong, nationalist and patriotic principles.
"This plan calls on all political forces within the people's front, who are committed to the overthrow of religious despotism and the establishment of a democratic republic based on the separation of religion and state, to act in solidarity and unity at this sensitive moment, despite their differences."
The leader of the main Iranian opposition group calls on patriotic military personnel to stand by the people of Iran, the Revolutionary Guard and all other forces that maintain the regime must lay down their arms and surrender to the people.
"Until the interim government is established, students, workers, oil workers, farmers, young entrepreneurs, nurses and teachers, women and men alike, together with soldiers and officers within the National Liberation Army, are the guardians of public safety, health and security, and responsible for addressing the needs of the people and solving their problems."
Maryam Rajavi's message emphasizes that based on the NCRI resolutions, once the interim government is established on Iranian territory, it is obligated to hold free and fair elections within six months for a National Legislative and Constituent Assembly.
The duties of this Assembly are to draft the constitution, to define the new republican system of the country, to legislate for the administration of current affairs until the first National Assembly is formed under the new constitution, and to appoint a government which, after the resignation of the six-month interim government, will assume responsibility for the affairs of the country under the supervision of the Constituent Assembly.
"I emphasize again that the NCRI and the Interim Government do not seek power, but the transfer of power to the sovereignty of the Iranian people. Glory to the people of Iran. Victory belongs to the democratic revolution of Iran. Long live the democratic republic," the message concludes.
