After 'Easter ceasefire', Ukraine reports many Russian drone attacks

The Ukrainian military has reported Russian drone attacks in several regions overnight, just hours after the end of a 30-hour "Easter ceasefire" declared by Moscow, the BBC reports.

The Ukrainian Air Force issued attack alerts for the Kiev region, as well as Kherson, Dnipropetrovsk, Cherkasy, Mykolaiv and Zaporizhzhia.

In the southern city of Mykolaiv, Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych said “explosions were heard.” It is not known if there were any casualties.

The Russian military has not commented on the reported attacks. The ceasefire declared by President Vladimir Putin expired at midnight Moscow time (21:00) on Sunday. Both sides accused each other of violating the ceasefire.

Early Monday, residents in several Ukrainian cities, including the capital Kiev, were urged by local authorities to immediately go to nearby shelters due to the threat of drone attacks.
