Lebanese President Calls on US, France to Stop Israel's Attacks on Beirut

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun has called on the United States and France, as guarantors of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hezbollah, to pressure Israel to immediately stop its airstrikes, following an Israeli strike on the southern sector of Beirut. In a statement, President Aoun condemned the Israeli attack and stressed that the US and France must bear responsibility and ensure that Israel stops the aggression.

He warned that Israel's actions to undermine stability will escalate tensions and endanger the security and stability of the region.

The Israeli attack focused on a Hezbollah warehouse in Beirut, believed to be holding precision-guided missiles that posed a threat to the security of the Israeli state. The Israeli military struck the warehouse following an order from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Katz. A powerful explosion hit the building in the southern sector of Beirut, shortly after an announcement to evacuate residents from the area.
