Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has survived several assassination attempts by Russia.
In an interview with The Sun, the leader whom the media describes as "lion-hearted", said that at least five or six plots to kill him had been foiled by the Ukrainian intelligence services.
The president also said Ukraine's will to defeat Vladimir Putin's Russia remains strong. He said his people are tired of the airstrikes, tired of the shelling, tired of destroying their homes and killing their loved ones.
" If you ask them, are you ready to surrender our lands to Russia? Are you ready to talk to the Russians about how to end all this? "Are you ready to compromise, personally, with Putin and are you tired of it? They will tell you that we are not tired. We are willing to stay further."
Asked by The Sun whether Ukraine would take a chance to kill Putin if the opportunity arose, Zelensky said: "This is war and Ukraine has every right to defend our land. "
