Serbian protesters on bicycles… take anti-corruption campaign to the European Parliament

Protesters on bicycles were welcomed in the Hungarian capital, Budapest, on April 5, after setting off two days earlier from Novi Sad, Serbia.
The collapse of a concrete shelter at the Novi Sad train station last November killed 16 people and sparked nationwide protests in Serbia.
The protesters blame the government for corruption and failure. The protesters are now trying to gain support outside Serbia and from EU lawmakers.
Meanwhile, in Serbia, President Aleksandar Vučić on Sunday appointed Gjuro Macutin, a little-known medical professor, as prime minister-designate amid a political crisis.
Vucic, one of the founders of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party since 2012, presented this as a "movement of great changes."
On January 28, Prime Minister Miloš Vučević resigned after weeks of mass protests demanding responsibility for the fatal accident. Vučić said he had accepted the resignation with regret because, as he insisted, Vučević “did nothing wrong.”/ REL
