Publication of two internal reports/ University head apologizes after public

Harvard University President Dr. Alan Garber has issued a public apology following the release of two internal reports revealing disturbing instances of anti-Semitic and anti-Muslim bias on campus.

The reports contain testimonies from students who felt excluded, stigmatized and forced to hide their religious or cultural identity at one of the most prestigious universities in the world.

“I apologize for the times when we failed to meet our expectations for a fair and inclusive community ,” Dr. Garber said in a public statement Tuesday, acknowledging that Harvard had failed to protect some of its members.

Dr. Garber, who is Jewish, has also shared his personal experience with anti-Semitism on campus, noting that this experience has given him “a deep understanding of the pain and sensitivity required in leading such a diverse community.”

The reports, drafted by two task forces created after last year's violent pro-Palestinian and pro-Israel protests sparked by the Israel-Gaza war, found that political and religious tensions had deepened divisions among students and academic staff.
