US evacuated planes from Qatar air base before Iranian attack, satellite images show empty runways

A satellite image from June 19 shows US aircraft departing Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, leaving the runways nearly empty. The move came ahead of Iran's missile attack on the base on Monday in response to US airstrikes on Iranian nuclear targets over the weekend.
According to two defense officials who spoke to CNN, the relocation of the aircraft is part of the Pentagon's strategy to protect American assets and equipment in the Middle East, amid escalating tensions between Iran and Israel.
Meanwhile, all US Navy warships that were stationed at Naval Support Activity Bahrain, the US naval base in Bahrain, left port last week. The destination of the relocated aircraft and ships is not yet known.
