'Meeting with Trump at the Vatican could be historic', Zelensky: If the end of the war is achieved, thank you President!

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said his meeting with US President Donald Trump at the Vatican could be historic if the war, a topic they discussed, is ended.
"Good meeting. Face to face, we managed to discuss many things. We hope for a result from everything that was discussed," Zelensky wrote in one of his posts.
He said the topics of discussion included “the protection of the lives of our people, a complete and unconditional ceasefire, and a credible and lasting peace that will prevent the recurrence of war.”
Zelensky added: "It was a very symbolic meeting that has the potential to become historic if we achieve joint results. Thank you, President Donald Trump!"
15-minute meeting – US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky met for about 15 minutes in St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican.
Photos released by Zelensky's office show the two leaders sitting across from each other in the middle of a marble hall. "They had a productive conversation," a White House spokesman said earlier.
Another published photo shows Trump and Zelensky standing in the same place with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron.
After Pope Francis' funeral and his conversation with the Ukrainian leader, Trump left Rome to return to the United States.
The French presidency described the meeting between Trump, Zelensky, Starmer and Macron as "positive".
