Shocked by the statement of the president of Colombia: Rebels and criminals are planning to kill me with a sniper

Colombian President Gustavo Petro said today that Ivan Mordisco, the commander of the rebel group Estado Major Central (EMC), is planning to kill him with the help of snipers.

"I would ask the so-called "Ivan Mordisko" if it is true that he has joined the self-proclaimed "New Drug Trafficking Board" with a secret headquarters in Dubai, from where they commit crimes, that I will be killed by paid snipers," Petro said in a post on the X platform.

Petro has not explained who or what the Dubai-based criminal group is, and intelligence sources say there is no information about a planned attack.

The EMC is a dissident group of the now-demobilized Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), which opposes a 2016 peace deal with the country.
