In an interview with CNN, US President Donald Trump said he is open to the possibility of a religious leader in Iran, but emphasizes that the condition is that "he behaves well towards the US and Israel."
"I'm saying there has to be a leader who is fair and impartial. Does a good job. Treats the United States and Israel well and treats other countries in the Middle East well, all of them are our partners. And I became very friendly with all of these countries. That's why they're all fighting for us. Before I got involved, we weren't even talking to the UAE and Saudi Arabia. You know, Biden excluded them. Biden and Obama excluded Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Qatar, excluded them all. It was all going to go to China, and I got involved in a very short period of time and they became my friends," Trump said.
And while Trump praised the US operation against Iran, he said he was not concerned about rising gas prices.
"It's okay. It will be short-term. It will go down very quickly," he said, dismissing the fact that prices have increased significantly and also saying that "there is already a solution" for the Strait of Hormuz.
