Kubela has characterized the talks as sincere and constructive. He said that the parties have agreed to establish a special commission for this issue, which will work in the next 10 days on the steps that should be taken.
Ukraine has said it hopes the EU's 27 member states will agree at Thursday's summit to give it a 50 million euro package, which Kiev aims to use to plug this year's budget deficit while it is continues the war against the invading forces of Russia.
However, no progress was reported on Hungary's stance on the aid package during the Uzhhorod talks.
Szijjaro said that this is not a bilateral issue and that it should be discussed in Brussels.
Hungary is the only EU country that did not support the aid package for Ukraine at the December summit.
Yermak said steps have been taken to reach agreement on a meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, although no date has been set.
Ukrainian officials have said they expect Orban to visit Ukraine, which would be his first visit during Russia's occupation of Ukraine.
Orban's government has strained relations with Kiev, but has maintained good ties with Moscow, unlike other EU countries, since Russia launched its invasion nearly two years ago./REL/
