It is about the "5 Lek" coin, which will be put into circulation from June 20, as an issue of 2023.

In fact, the only change this coin would suffer is the year of issue.

The reprinting of Albanian metal coins with legal tender, with a nominal value of 5 Lek, was approved by decision no. 2, dated 18.1.2023, of the Supervisory Council of the Bank of Albania, in support of the law "On the Bank of Albania", as amended.

BSH announces that, from June 20, 2024, metal coins with a nominal value of 5 Lek, legal tender, issued in 2023, will be used as means of payment in parallel with all existing metal coins in circulation of this denomination, issued in previous years.
