This year's July, among the hottest ever! What scientists warn about

July 2025 ranked as the third hottest month ever recorded on Earth, according to the latest data from the European Copernicus Climate Change Service.
Scientists emphasize that climate change continues to significantly affect the planet's thermal profile, bringing worrying consequences on a global scale.
Carlo Buontempo, director of the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S), stated:
“Two years after the hottest June ever recorded, the global temperature record streak has been broken for the time being. But that doesn't mean climate change is over.”
According to the report, July of this year saw a slight decrease in the global average temperature, but it still remained 1.25°C warmer than the pre-industrial average (1850–1900). This deviation is considered alarming, as it approaches the 1.5°C limit set in the Paris Agreement, a threshold that has been consistently exceeded over the past 24 months.
As a result, July 2025 continues to be one of the three hottest Julys ever recorded, reconfirming the rising trend in global temperatures.
Experts warn that the average increase in temperature, no matter how small it may seem, has the power to trigger extreme and dangerous phenomena, such as severe storms, heat waves, droughts and other extreme weather events, often with serious consequences for life and the environment.
