The geopolitical situation is very polarized and tense, not only because of the conflict in Ukraine that actually seems as close as it is far from us, but because of the fact that the Balkans itself has always been the real concern of regional security and beyond!
Why does the conflict in Ukraine seem as close as it is far away? Because, in fact, this conflict is a big game for big countries! So we can have consequences, but we can't directly do anything to either stop it or win it!
We have to look at the game that can be played in our field, in Albania and in the Balkans, and more specifically in Kosovo, where any type of scenario that harms the security of Kosovo actually harms our security as well as that of the Region!
The Constitutional Court of Romania, for the first time and in an unprecedented way, annuls the presidential elections, the run-off elections due to the intervention of Russia! So, after today's decision, elections will be held once again from the beginning as if they had never been held!
In fact, if we talk about the elections in Albania, we have never had detailed information about foreign interference in our elections, but one thing is certain that we have interference from ourselves for the alienation of the vote, its buying and selling, and why not. and other dangerous elements for security, order, sovereignty and democracy!
Before we say whether what happened in Romania can happen here, we must have answers to some questions:
- Does our Constitutional Court have the real authority to cancel elections?
- Does our Constitutional Court have the independence to cancel elections?
- Does our Constitutional Court, for every possible scenario, have sufficient elements to define "Non Grata" as sufficient criteria to cancel the elections?
- Does the Constitutional Court have the power in its mandate to cancel the elections?
- The alienation of the vote, the manipulation of the elections, the interference from the dark world in candidacies and in the electoral process, should they be treated with the same valence as the intervention of another country, whoever it may be, since they basically violate the sovereignty, the Constitutional order and the democratic future of country?
The decision of the Romanian Constitutional Court is an unprecedented case so far, but which can be applied to all those countries that are members of and will face elections in 2025!
Perhaps, this could also happen in our elections in 2025, if the process will not be regular and if the result would bring political subjects that would seriously harm the Euro-Atlantic orientation of the country! However, until the 2025 elections, we have nothing left but to wait and see what can happen!
