The greatest irony today appears among Berisha's soldiers who cannot contain their excitement over Rama's victory against SPAK. Without hiding their excitement, they say that, after the decision to protect Balluk, SPAK is now finished. Once it stepped out of line and took an independent action, it was hit by Rama and submitted with shame.
This could be called masochistic wishful thinking, a pathological situation when you see with your eyes wide open an imaginary goal that you would like to eat.
Rama has not actually achieved any victory. The scandals and the files that were leaked have already massacred his image and the latter, along with Balluk, has put his stamp on him. SPAK not only brought down the government's number two figure, but also exposed Rama himself, forcing him to show his true face in defense of the thieves. SPAK has cut off his arms and alibis, causing him to fall to the lowest ratings in these 13 years. In the meantime, he can no longer say that SPAK is his pride, he can no longer say that those being investigated are eating pears behind his back, he can no longer say that he is not afraid of investigations, and above all, he has already been very badly exposed to the international community.
Contrary to what the masochistic rhetoric of the opposition says, SPAK has crippled the image of the government these years. It has proven to the Albanians the terrible levels of its corruption by bringing to justice almost all of the Prime Minister's closest associates. The Balluk attack is not a departure from the line, but a culmination of an extraordinary work that has been growing in crescendo, from case to case. These attacks have made Rama swallow little by little the poisons that he can no longer hold in until it exploded, initially with the case of Veliaj, and now finally with Balluk.
The bad thing is that the opposition has other problems and is not focused on the fight with the government. Its leader is himself under accusation by SPAK for abuse of office, concealment of assets, dubious campaign financing, and ordering the killing of citizens in protest. For all of this, SPAK is his real enemy and not Rama. Consequently, the Balluk investigation was an insurmountable problem for Berisha more than for Rama himself, since it simultaneously destroyed his alibis.
SPAK's war with the government bluffed the lie that SPAK is a criminal organization in the service of Rama, to destroy the opposition. This is precisely why Berisha's soldiers, eagerly awaited the rejection of the lifting of Balluk's immunity, to prophesy Cassandra, in an attempt to treat everything as an accident, a momentary rebellion among the courtiers. They eagerly awaited a return to the anti-SPAK rhetoric, where after the momentary mistake, the Special Prosecution Office would return to its position as a "criminal organization in the hands of the regime."
In fact, nothing has happened. Despite the desperate obstacles that Rama is putting up, the investigations will continue and Balluku will be brought to justice. Other investigations and scandals seem to be on the way and the government will continue to be discredited in the eyes of the public, remaining in power only because of the great fortune that it faces with an opposition like Berisha's.
