I often return to the "Power of Rumors" as a symbol of what happens in the Albanian media, where everything is talked about but the truth is kept at bay. The "Power of Rumors" consists of three main factors, which are politics, the oligarchy and the media, which in exchange for economic gain and maintaining political stagnation deform public opinion, plunge it into chaos and move it further and further away from the truth.
Not only Albanian society but it is a global phenomenon that because life has become fast and expensive, societies suffer from social amnesia. What is social amnesia? It means the overlapping of many events in public opinion and in the human mind so that he does not focus on who the truth is. Taking advantage of this psychological burden, then the political class benefits by distorting reality but also by making you part of the fable they create.
Such is the case in Albania, the "Power of Rumors" does everything to prevent Basha's name from being mentioned, but even when it is mentioned, the program directors focus on ridiculing him in the absence of Basha or his representatives on the show panels. In fact, in recent days, in every show we have seen people with criminal records, we have seen talk about how Berisha will go to Washington, how Veliaj speaks from prison without being asked and criticizes the SPAK prosecutor, what tales have we heard about imaginary enemies and epic battles, but we have only heard one thing, why did Lulzim Basha go to Washington.
Why is no one in the media, including independent journalists and those who represent the public interest, articulating how a man who is as attacked as Altin Dumani by the old political class has meetings in Washington and at the US State Department? How is it possible that a politician who is attacked from morning to night with fake news, to which Berisha and his gang have joined, just like Rama, has official visits to the US State Department?
How is it possible that even though as a politician already without the stamp of the DP behind him, Lulzim Basha still has open doors in Washington, while these others cannot even meet the guard of the American Embassy in Tirana. How is it possible that out of all these opposition parties that have sprouted like mushrooms after the rain, only Lulzim Basha has access to have personal meetings at the institutional level.
These are some of the questions that are being asked, although in fact, in this media haze that has been raised with fake news, they should have an answer. In fact, I have the answer, but it is not up to me to speak, but I ask you. Why is Lulzim Basha so scary when these people do not leave a day, hour or minute in the media and in cafes without cursing him and calling him a weak politician.
In fact, time and history are the best medicine for truth, and as I wrote an article some time ago about Basha that I titled "They accuse him of sleeping but he's keeping them awake," his reappearance at the doors of Washington in a very short period of time for the second time is not only keeping them awake but is also causing nightmares for the old political class.
