ChatGPT and Oppenheimer top most viewed Wikipedia pages in 2023, find out more!

ChatGPT set a record for the fastest growing user base last February, amassing 100 million active users in January.
"It's clear that people wanted to better understand the history and context behind ChatGPT's technology as they experimented with it," said Anusha Alikhan, chief communications officer at the Wikimedia Foundation in an interview with CNN.
Joining ChatGPT in the rest of the top five were biographical posts about people who died in 2023, the 2023 Cricket World Cup, the Indian Premier League, and the film Oppenheimer.
Audiences in India and Southeast Asia had a large influence on the 2023 list, as one-fifth of the list was made up of media from that region and the country of India itself.
The list was otherwise filled with influential figures in sports, entertainment and business. Taylor Swift, Elon Musk and Lionel Messi are the top newsmakers in their respective trades and this is reflected in the number of times their Wikipedia pages have been viewed.
Less desirable subjects and figures also entered the list. Although somewhat overshadowed by news of the war in Gaza, the Russian invasion of Ukraine saw nearly 12.8 million views on Wikipedia.
Last on the list was Andrew Tate, the bigoted and self-proclaimed misogynistic influencer who has been indicted for rape and human trafficking in Romania. His page received more than 12.7 million views.
