Types of hallucinations, what are the most common symptoms you experience?

Hallucinations (sometimes we see or hear people who are no longer alive)… Studies show that 6 out of 10 people see or hear their dead loved ones. They say that, in fact, hallucinations are common, but many people are afraid that they are going crazy and don't mention it to their friends.

6 out of 10 people who are grieving have reported seeing or hearing their dead loved ones. Among people, about 30-60% have experienced things like their spouse sitting in a chair or hearing them call their name according to scientists.

The University of Milan researchers said that there is a very high prevalence of these "hallucinatory experiences after the loss of a loved one" in those people who have no history of mental disorders.

In the report published in the "Journal of Affective Disorders" it is stated that this study gives consistency and explains these phenomena. The researchers said further studies are needed to determine its physiological and pathological nature.

Jacqueline Hayes, an academic at the University of Roehampton has studied the phenomenon by interviewing people in the UK who have lost spouses, parents, children, siblings or friends.

People reported visions, voices, feeling as if someone was touching them, or a sense of someone's presence that is not directly related to the senses.

But what new does this bring?

The report follows another study from the University of Southampton, which suggests that there may be life after death.

Auditory hallucinations: This happens when people hear things that are not true. According to News Medical, this is the most common type of hallucination among patients with schizophrenia, but it can also happen frequently to people who can hear the voices of loved ones who are no longer alive.

Tactile hallucinations: Tactile hallucinations occur when you feel something on your skin that isn't really there. This happens as a result of alcoholism or drug abuse. The most common hallucinations are those of thinking that an insect or other living thing is on the skin.

Experiential hallucinations: This includes all bodily state hallucinations, where individuals who experience them say they have a sensation of flying, floating, or an out-of-body experience. This can also explain the feeling that you or a part of you is in another place, or you can feel the presence of someone dead.

Olfactory hallucinations: These types of hallucinations involve smelling smells that don't actually exist and, according to Counselors Soapbox, is one of the rarest forms of hallucinations. Usually these smells are unpleasant, this can happen as a result of a brain injury or due to epilepsy.
