Catholic and Orthodox believers everywhere in the world celebrated Christmas today.
In the capital, the Christmas Vigil mass began at 11pm on Sunday at St Paul's Cathedral, with prayers continuing at midnight.
In the Resurrection of Christ cathedral in Gjirokastër, the Christmas mass was held this morning to continue the holiday rituals in the family.
In Fier, in the cathedral of St. George, the holy Christmas liturgy was held led by Father Nicholas. Hundreds of believers participated in the mass and exchanged greetings with each other.
Saranda has had a tourist boom on Christmas night where thousands of people filled the streets of the city creating a festive atmosphere. Mass was held in the church of Saint Haralambi this morning, attended by dozens of believers.
In Vlora, many believers have gathered in the city church to attend the mass addressed to Father Kostandini. According to tradition, a sacrifice is made to gather all family members at one table.
In Shkodër, in the cathedral of the Catholic church, in the late evening until the early hours of the morning, many believers participated in the Christmas vigil mass. In his speech, Mr. Angelo Masafra conveyed the message of peace in the country and in the world.
