Tom Cruise can buy anything except a new Bugatti.
It was May 4, 2006 when Tom Cruise's jet-black and incredibly dazzling Bugatti Veyron appeared in front of the red carpet at Grauman's Theater in Hollywood at the premiere of the film Mission: Impossible III, which was about to break all records at the American box office.
Cruise bought the Bugatti a year ago, spending nearly 1.75 million euros.
But what happened on the red carpet that Bugatti stopped Tom Cruise from buying?
Footage released at the time shows a gentleman opening the passenger door where his wife Katie Holmes was sitting. So far so good. But when the Impossible star tried to open the car door something went wrong.
Cruz did not lose his cool, but the Bugatti company did not take very well this negative dimension that the issue took.
They felt that the scene where the actor could not open the door of the Veyron damaged the image of the company and the quality of the car.
Rumor has it that the Bugatti company informed all of its outlets not to sell Tom Cruise any more.
And the truth is, Tom Cruise hasn't bought another Bugatti since.
