The ancient Indian temple with 750 kg of gold, where children never cry

The 500-year-old city of Amritsar, in the Indian province of Punjab, is an ancient and holy place; there is even a Sikh religious temple in the area's airport.

There every day thousands of Indians and foreign devotees come to see the holy places.

Among them is undoubtedly the temple of Florinjë, which is the main spiritual headquarters of the Sikhs built with almost 1 ton of gold in the domes.

The amazing structure is reported to have been completed in 1604 by Shri Guru Arjun Dev Ji, who is the fifth guru of the Sikh faith.

The Golden Temple of Amritsar has entrances on all four sides, to show that it is open to all devotees of whatever social rank or creed.

People from all regions are welcome here if they follow certain rules such as banning tobacco products or chewing gum, Express.co.uk writes.

Both men and women must have their heads covered as a sign of respect, but for this, headscarves in the traditional Sikh color are given for free, which also serve as souvenirs for visitors.

The visit is accompanied by relaxing Indian Sikh music played by large sound systems.

British visitors say that in the golden temple you see people of all ages, but what catches your attention is how calm the little children are there.

In the main hall you find dozens of babies crawling on the marble floor who seem enthralled with the spirituality of the place, and during the visit of the journalists not one of them was heard to cry.

Temperatures can be somewhat high but devotees can bathe in the water that surrounds the complex

The women's washroom is separated from the boys' and men's, who can bathe in the open areas.

At the temple, free Karah Prasad — a local sweet flour dish — is served by volunteers to everyone queuing to enter.

There are no reports of crime or poverty in this city, and the surroundings of the complex are said to have been planted with sacred trees, the report added.
