The former president of Albania, Bujar Nishani, who died two years ago due to a serious liver disease, would celebrate his 58th birthday today.
Today, on his birthday, the daughter of the former president, Fiona Nishani, remembered her father with a photo next to him.
She has published on social networks a photo with the former president, while writing how much she misses him.
"I miss him more than ever. Today we would celebrate your 58th birthday", writes Fiona.
Bujar Nishani was born on September 29, 1966 in the city of Durrës, and passed away on May 22, 2022, after suffering from an autoimmune disease.
Nishani was elected president of Albania in 2012 and served in this post for a full term until 2017.
In this position he came from an academic career with the Armed Forces of Albania and several years of engagement in the Ministry of Defense of Albania in the first decade of the democratic transition. Nishani was a senior member of the Democratic Party of Albania and served as a deputy from the ranks of this party in the Parliament of Albania in 2005.
He held the position of Minister of the Interior in 2007 and 2011, while that of Minister of Justice in 2009. Nishani was the sixth president of Albania.
