British MP: Strikers in the north, well-equipped militia

The British MP, Alicia Kearns, has said that the Kosovo Police must guarantee the rule of law without threats of violence, as she commented on the killing of a police officer in the early hours of Sunday in Banjska, Zveçani.
"The situation is not over yet because of the exchanges of fire in the Monastery of Banjska. Initial images suggest the attackers are well-funded and well-equipped militia, including armored vehicles. There must be accountability and they must face justice. Let's hope that there will be no more injured", she said through a post on "X".
Deputy Kearns said at the beginning of July that in the north of Kosovo "weapons are being smuggled in ambulances and then stored in church buildings".
NATO's military mission in Kosovo, KFOR, stated that no evidence has been found for the British MP's claims, while the Kosovo authorities will then start investigations./ REL
