Hybrid attacks, the NATO team in Skopje

Threats and hybrid attacks faced by North Macedonia and other NATO countries have been the subject of talks between the government delegation and NATO representatives. In the meeting with the NATO expert team, the present Ministers discussed the measures taken, while the security services assess the situation in the country as stable.
Daniela Ilioska, Secretary for Coordination of Security Services: These threats come after the start of Russian aggression in Ukraine and are a combination of foreign and domestic actors. All countries of the free world face increased intensity of hybrid threats. From day one, we cooperate in partnership with international security organizations and institutions.
James Appathurai, Deputy Assistant Secretary General of NATO: The RMV faces a hybrid of deliberate and cynical attacks. But as a member of NATO, it does not face this challenge alone, but is part of the family of democracies that are together and support each other. NATO and allies already share information and provide technical support. During my stay, we discussed next steps to strengthen cyber security and strengthen mechanisms for effective government actions.
Otherwise, as Klan Macedonia announces, North Macedonia has been facing false bomb alarms since October last year. From October of last year to March of this year, 862 locations in Skopje were checked, over 2,500 police officers were engaged and over 5 million denars were spent. Public institutions, as well as various Ministries, have been the target of cyber attacks.
