"Here we are in the USA"/ CNN reporter cancels interview after Iran's president asked her to wear a headscarf

CNN's Christiane Amanpour has canceled an interview with the Iranian president after he asked her to wear a headscarf. Amanpour was scheduled to interview President Ebrahim Raisi, 61, at the UN Security Council meeting in New York on Wednesday when he asked her to wear a headscarf at the last minute.
Amanpour, who is Iranian and grew up in Tehran, declined the request.
Then in a reaction on Instagram she wrote: "We are in New York, where there is no law or tradition regarding headscarves. I pointed out that no previous Iranian president has asked for this when I have interviewed them outside of Iran."
When interviewing former president Hassan Rouhani, Amanpour did not wear a headscarf.
However, the journalist covered up during a report she made inside Iran, because "otherwise she wouldn't be able to act as a journalist," she told CNN's New Day.
Since the Islamic Revolution of 1979, all women, including tourists, must wear headscarves in Iran.
