The Kosovo Assembly meets again today in a constitutive session

The Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo is expected to convene today at 10:00 to continue the proceedings of the constitutive session of the Ninth Legislature. On the agenda are the election of the Speaker and Deputy Speakers of the Assembly – a process that has so far proven unsuccessful.

On Sunday, under the leadership of Speaker Avni Dehari, the Parliament met to continue with the constitutive session. Vetëvendosje Movement MP Glauk Konjufca proposed for the second time MP Albulena Haxhiu for the position of Speaker of the Parliament.

However, after the voting was completed, Chairman Dehari announced that Haxhiu failed to secure the necessary number of votes, receiving only 57 votes in favor, 41 against, and three abstentions. As a result, the session was adjourned.

Political clashes were not lacking, with the two main blocs accusing each other of failing the process and obstructing the constitution of the Assembly.
