Police continue investigations in Banjska

The Kosovo Police is still conducting investigations in the mountainous area of ​​Banjska, where members of this institution were attacked on September 24.

As a result of the attacks, the sergeant of the Kosovo Police, Afrim Bunjaku, was killed.

During the clashes with the police, three attackers were also killed.

The Deputy Director of the Kosovo Police, Veton Elshani, told Radio Free Europe that in Tuesday's operation, the Police, including the special unit, are looking for weapons.

However, he announced that house checks in that area are not part of the operation.

“Sapo i kemi tërhequr njësitet speciale nga Banjska, do të thotë niveli i rrezikut ulet, por na duheshin më shumë njerëz. Nuk është e pazakontë. Po mundohemi ta çojmë aksionin deri në fund, por varet nëse do të gjendet diçka”, ka thënë Elshani për Radion Evropa e Lirë.

Policia e Kosovës ka gjetur sasi të konsiderueshme të armatimit në këtë zonë edhe më 30 shtator.

Në mesin e pajisjeve të gjetura janë përmendur: raketahedhës (zolla), armë të gjata dhe pajisje të tjera ushtarake, si jelekë anti-plumb.

Pas sulmit të 24 shtatorit, zyrtarët policorë kanë ekspozuar edhe granatahedhës, pushkë të shumta automatike, pushkë snajper, automjete ushtarake, eksplozivë, detonatorë, të cilat i kanë gjetur në operacionet e kërkimit në këtë fshat në veri të Kosovës.

Përgjegjësinë për sulmet në Banjskë e ka marrë Millan Radoiçiq, ish-nënkryetar i Listës Serbe.
