French politician under fire for photoshopped campaign poster

A French politician has come under fire after using photoshop to give her a youthful glow in campaign posters.
Juliette de Causans, who is a candidate in the French senatorial elections this month, chose to appear as a Hollywood actress in the latest poster, to look her best.
Ms De Causans is in her 40s but has not given her exact age. In the poster published in March of this year, the politician is seen with brighter skin, straighter teeth, more beautiful hair, compared to other photos she has on Instagram.
Juliette de Causans, a member of a small centrist party called Europe Ecologie Egalite, has admitted to photoshopping her image, saying it is more likely to promote her party's cause to support Europe and the environment.
Ms De Causans entered politics in 2021 after working as a secondary school teacher. She became an MP in the Ardennes, but won only 4.28 percent of the vote in the 2022 legislative elections.
Her party is made up of breakaway supporters of President Emmanuel Macron's Renaissance party, who continue to back her but lack the support of Macron's camp.
After criticism for photoshop, De Causans said: It is my right as a candidate to have a beautiful photo. Hair, makeup and lighting are not the same thing.
