Turkey arrests dozens of people after the attack in Ankara

Police detained at least 67 people in Turkey on Tuesday as they carried out an operation to target people linked to Kurdish militants.
The action is being carried out a few days after a suicide attack in Ankara. Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya has said that the police have raided 16 Turkish provinces, arresting 55 people who are suspected of being part of an "intelligence structure" of the Kurdistan People's Party (PKK).
At least 12 more suspected members of the PKK have been arrested in an operation spread across five provinces, Yerlikaya said on X - the platform formerly known as Twitter.
The PKK has waged a decades-long insurgency in Turkey and is considered a terrorist organization by the United States and the European Union.
Tens of thousands of people have died since the conflict began in 1984.
On Sunday, a man carried out a suicide attack near the entrance of the Interior Ministry in Ankara, hours before Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was to deliver a speech to Parliament.
The second attacker was killed by police forces. The PKK has claimed responsibility for the attack. REL
