44 days after the Court of Appeal ordered that Enver Sekiraqa, convicted of attempted murder, be returned to custody, the security institutions have failed to locate him. Everyone has taken the first measures, such as the court, the Ministry of Justice and the police, despite this, Sekiraqa continues to remain outside the control of the law enforcement agencies.
The Basic Court of Pristina, asked by Dukagjini if he requested an international arrest warrant and for the steps taken, gave an answer, but without concrete details.
And this seems to be related to the fact that the institutions are not releasing information because they are considering the matter confidential, as the Ministry of Justice confirmed for television.
However, there are cases when the bodies have made public wanted persons not only in the country but also through Interpol, as was recently the case of Milan Radoicic whose international arrest warrant was confirmed by the Kurti government ministers themselves.
However, a reason why the international arrest warrant may not have been issued yet is given by the security expert, while the lawyer indicates when the conditions to issue such a document will be met.
"The Kosovo Police has collected the relevant information, acted with its units in the field, minimizing the possibility that Enver Sekiraqa will be found in the territory of Kosovo, and for this reason, no arrest warrant has been issued so far," said security expert Drizan Shala. .
"The court for the person who is alleged to have escaped has the possibility of issuing an international arrest warrant and such a thing happens when he is not found in Kosovo and there is evidence that that person resides outside Kosovo, the request is directed to the competent body, namely the Ministry of Justice", is expressed lawyer Meshari Selimaj.
Enver Sekiraqa was sentenced on May 3 for inciting the murder of the policeman Triumf Riza to 25 years in prison, but was released by the judge Agim Kuçi, against whom disciplinary proceedings were then initiated since when the Appeal sent him back to custody on May 17, he escaped.
