The Albanian soldier who is part of the new government in Syria, Abu Qatada Albani, has said that Kosovo has requested recognition from Damascus. He made this known in an interview for "Interaktiv Talks" by journalist Xhemajl Rexha.

Abu Qatada Albani said that it is unfortunate that such a request came from a very low level, as he said from a deputy minister of local government.

"At the same time, fortunately and unfortunately, there is a request for recognition of Kosovo's independence from the new Syrian Government, but the misfortune is that this request did not reach the appropriate level, because it reached the level of the deputy minister of local government, as far as I remember," he said.

He added that such a request should be made at the presidential or prime minister level.
