VOA: The US military captures a leader of the Islamic State in Syria

US Central Command forces conducted a raid in northern Syria on September 28 capturing Mamduh Ibrahim al-Haji Shaykh, leader of the so-called Islamic State terrorist organization, the Central Command said in a statement on Saturday.

US forces used aerial vehicles during the raid.

Last week, Central Command forces said they had captured Abu Halil al-Fad'ani, a key official of the terrorist organization known as ISIS for short.
