The murder of Marigona/ The crime that shocked Kosovo: Life imprisonment for the perpetrator

The Basic Court of Ferizaj in Kosovo has sentenced Dardan Krivaqa to life imprisonment for the murder of Marigona Osmani. Meanwhile, the other suspect, Arbër Sejdiu, was sentenced to 15 years in prison for aggravated murder.
The two accused, Krivaqa and Sejdiu, were however acquitted of the charge of rape, since according to the court there was not enough evidence to prove such a thing.
The judge of the case said that the very young age of Marigona Osmani, who had just turned 18, was taken into account for Krivaqa's sentence.
Marigona Osmani was 18 years old when she was killed on August 22, 2021 in the apartment of the main accused, Dardan Krivaqa, in the city of Ferizaj.
According to the indictment, Dardan Krivaqa is suspected that on August 21, 2021, at around 10:14, in his apartment, without the consent of the now deceased Marigona Osmani, he forced her to have sexual intercourse and abused and mistreated her in various ways .
The day after, on August 22, 2021, Krivaqa and Sejdiu are accused of killing Marigona Osmani, in an attempt to hide the crime of rape.
