Minister Hoxha meets with Israeli counterpart, discussions and signed agreements revealed

Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ferit Hoxha, received this morning on an official visit to Tirana his counterpart, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar.
The focus of the meeting was the further strengthening of bilateral relations between Albania and Israel, as well as the exchange of views on regional and global security challenges, including Albania's contribution within the Peace Board.
Minister Hoxha emphasized that Albania-Israel relations are based on a special history of friendship, respect and solidarity, which constitute a strong basis for expanding bilateral cooperation in the future.
During the visit, Minister Hoxha and his counterpart signed the General Cooperation Agreement, which marks an important step in strengthening the partnership between the two countries.
" The agreement creates a broad framework for intergovernmental cooperation and establishes a structured mechanism for the development of concrete partnerships in areas of mutual interest, such as economy and trade, innovation and technology, agriculture, water management, energy, health, education, security, tourism and culture. In particular, cooperation in the field of tourism has seen very positive developments in recent years, becoming one of the most dynamic and promising sectors of bilateral relations. During the meeting, Minister Hoxha reconfirmed Albania's position in support of Israel's security, while underlining the importance of efforts to achieve a solution that guarantees peace, stability and long-term security for the entire region ," the press statement said.
" The visit also served as an opportunity to reaffirm Albania's commitment against terrorism, extremism, anti-Semitism and any form of hatred. In this context, Minister Sa'ar visited the archival exhibition that documents the renowned Albanian tradition of protecting Jews during World War II, a proud chapter in the history of our country. The two ministers appreciated the importance of continuing political dialogue and cooperation at all levels, through continuous coordination between the two countries, in order to further strengthen the Albania-Israel partnership ," the statement continued.
