Why is such a tall tower necessary? According to experts, modern elevators are so fast that they require a lot of space to reach maximum speed and test their operation in real conditions. Pihkala, the director of technology at the Kone company, describes this as "the test track for a Formula 1 car". Among the tests carried out is the simulation of a free fall, where the emergency braking system must be activated to ensure that no one is harmed.
Also, this tower as a tourist attraction attracts thousands of visitors, becoming a popular tourist spot that offers a wonderful panorama of the German Black Forest, and even has views up to the Swiss Alps. The entire tower can be climbed by elevator in just 30 seconds.
