"The DP should not seek protagonism"/ Salianji: Berisha is behaving

Ervin Salianji has criticized the stance of the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, regarding the protest of students and youth in Tirana.

In an interview with News24, Salianji called the way the protest was announced by the DP incorrect, emphasizing that the youth rally had been announced for 2:00 PM, in front of the Ministry of Education.

He expressed concern about the opposition's approach, accusing Berisha of, according to him, politically serving Prime Minister Edi Rama.

He further described the political situation as a coexistence between two major political opponents, calling it a "Rama-Berisha regime."

Salianji also commented on the participation in the protest organized by Berisha, claiming that the number of citizens present was low.

Salianji further emphasized that the Democratic Party and its officials should support civic protests, without seeking political protagonism.

"Today I have followed with concern the stupidity they have committed when they announced a protest, while the protest was announced at 2:00 PM at the Ministry of Education. Berisha's behavior is like a crutch, a sleight of hand for Edi Rama... Here we have a Rama-Berisha regime, co-government. It was also damaging, you saw how few people there were with Berisha today. The DP and every official should be supportive and not seek additional protagonism. Instead of making a concrete proposal and taking it to Parliament, make a concrete proposal for the opening of the electoral lists. Sali Berisha is damaging the student protest," he said.
