"Can the 36 mandates of the DP elect a people's advocate?"/ Berisha responds to Balla:

The Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has responded to the statements of the Chairman of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group, Taulant Balla, regarding the debate on the election of the People's Advocate.
In his reaction, Berisha reiterated the DP's position on not recognizing the elections, describing them as internationally stigmatized, while accusing the majority of violating the principles of cooperation and political selection of the Ombudsman institution.
Sali Berisha: Regarding Tao's statement, I have to say only this. The Democratic Party did not recognize the elections, it has achieved for the second time in the history of pluralism their international stigmatization by presenting hundreds and thousands of facts. We will present our 1500-page publication on violence, looting, and the electoral farce. The Democratic Party engaged in a process thinking that in support of the OSCE/ODIHR recommendations, some changes could be made, with the conviction that any change does not make for free elections, as long as Edi Rama is in power.
With the act they committed with the Ombudsman, they violated every principle of minimal cooperation. They chose Edi Rama's man as their lawyer. They came in and out and bargained with him. They chose the man as their lawyer whose signatures were given to be on the list and this was a mistake, but never to be the Ombudsman. The signatures given, I say, were wrong, which is why I apologized, they were all withdrawn.
