Ervin Salianji spoke today for the first time after his release from prison.
At the press conference, Salianji was asked if he would run in the 2029 elections. The Democrat emphasized that he will do politics in the interest of citizens with or without the mandate of an MP.
Salianji also spoke about a problem he has in his case. He said that there is an obstacle, which according to him is the lack of clarity on the decision by the Supreme Court.
The Democrat said that the Supreme Court committed fraud to select the judicial panel that reviewed his appeal.
"Without a doubt, we will have occasional communications... There is an obstacle, which is the lack of disclosure of the decision by the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court has forged to select the judicial body that reviewed my appeal... I believe that these issues will be resolved before the period for running for office, but I am not fighting this battle just to be an MP. It is a sacrifice and an inability for a politician to be in parliament. I have been in opposition even without having the mandate of an MP... I will have the opportunity to do politics through contact with citizens and proposals that will come from the DP. So I do not see it as a concern, I am eagerly awaiting a confrontation at the European Court of Human Rights to determine whether I was right or the government ," said Salianji.
The former Democratic MP was released on parole today, after serving 2/3 of his sentence.
