The Chairperson of the Appeals Committee in the Democratic Party and candidate for MP, Adriana Kalaja, stated after the court hearing that the defamation lawsuit against her by Erion Veliaj is an attempt to intimidate her and the opposition.
She requested that the court request a statement from Veliaj from detention, as his legal status has changed. Kalaja emphasized that the justice system must take into consideration important evidence, including the testimony of SPAK head Altin Dumani.
She stated that an orgy video related to the celebrations after the May 14, 2023 elections was found on the phone of a director of the company "5D". Kalaja described this as a serious matter that requires transparency and a full investigation. She called on Veliaj to cooperate with justice and voluntarily hand over the video in question.

This was the next hearing, for a criminal lawsuit filed by the person currently in Durrës prison, or as he is called, citizen Erion Veliaj, accusing me of defamation due to a statement I made at one of the protests at the Municipality of Tirana.
Today I asked the court, in compliance with the Criminal Procedure Code, but also with consolidated judicial practice, that the court primarily request a statement from Erion Veliaj in detention, since his political status has changed, so at the time he filed the lawsuit, he was free.
So there was no security measure, while today he is under a personal security measure, and it is not for nothing that the law provides for this procedural step, perhaps he has bigger problems today than the issue of the orgy video he made, and even more so, neither the prosecutor nor the court should be scared by a procedural request, also due to the fact that I have asked that one of the evidence that should be put in this criminal process should be the statement in the role of a witness, of the director of SPAK Altin Dumani, who should come and declare whether it is true or not, that on the seized phone of one of the directors of the 5D company, or as we call it, of the 5D scheme, a video of orgies was found, or of the party they had after the robbery that took place during the 2023 elections, on May 14, 2023 in the Municipality of Tirana.
So, this is Erion Veliaj's next attempt, after he has acted in every case by intimidating the opposition, and me personally, because he will show in public that Adriana Kalaja is simply a slanderer, I invite him to think carefully there in that detention cell, to think carefully about all the crimes and criminal acts he has committed and that no criminal claim, not even 100 criminal claims, in the form of a defamation charge against me will save him, but the only possibility for him to be relieved even a little from criminal punishment is for him to become a repentant of justice and on this occasion perhaps he will bring us the orgy video voluntarily.
