Alfred Lela ''regrets'' after Donald Trump's son's reaction: I deleted the news, because I had done it myself

The head of the Democratic Party's press office, Alfred Lela, has reacted to a complaint from Richard Grenell and the son of US President Donald Trump Jr., regarding a news story published on his "Politiko" portal.

The news, originally published by Hashtag.al, which was also republished on Lela's portal, alluded to Grenell having lobbied for Prime Minister Edi Rama to meet in Belgrade with Donald Trump Jr., and that this mediation had failed. But Grenell and Trump Jr. denied such a thing as untrue, complaining to Lela.

However, on Top News, with journalist Dafina Hysa, Lela explained that the news was not his investigation, but was Hashtag news, and as such, criticism should not be directed at him, but at the original publisher.

"It's good that the news is given in full, but the news is not from Politiko.al, the news is from Hashtag.al. Politiko has included a quote at the end, saying that the news is from another portal," he said.

How do you explain that Mr. Grenell addresses you personally?

The reason, in my opinion, is that Mr. Grenell does not know, and is not required to know, the portals in Albania. He did not see at the end of Politiko's post, that the Hashtag is written at the end. And knowing more about Politiko, which is the portal of an American citizen. That is why he made him react to me.

Do you feel responsible for a news item published on your portal?

Why would I feel responsible? I removed it, the facts may be true, but I cannot verify that the news is from another outlet. The facts may be true. The gentleman was addressing me, and as long as he was addressing me, I removed the news.
