Alimehmeti on the DP elections: There is no other candidacy to date except Dr. Berisha

Member of the National Council of the Democratic Party, Ilir Alimehmeti, invited to the "Off the Record" studio by Andrea Danglli, on A2CNN, stated that there are "no candidacies that have been announced to date, that have announced ambitions, that have announced a vision, a platform other than that of Dr. Sali Berisha" for the leadership of the DP.
"The Chairman is definitely the most important body of the Democratic Party. The party itself is established and starts on June 6 because the Assembly appoints the Council. The Council then appoints the Presidency, the vice-chairmen, the secretariats, the entire organizational part. I don't know of any candidacies that have been announced to date, that have announced ambitions, that have announced a vision, a platform other than that of Dr. Sali Berisha. I don't know of any others. If there are others, we will wait for them to appear," said Alimehmeti.
"The Assembly is on June 6, the National Council is elected there and from this moment all instances of the Democratic Party's dome are elected by the National Council. Based on the statute, it is anticipated that there will be some statutory changes. We do not know what those changes are. It has been discussed that there is a working group to look at these possible changes to the statute. We will wait to see what they are, because today we are up to this announcement. I would like other dates, earlier. Summer makes political work difficult. But, the dates are set. Statutory decisions, if there will be any, we will wait to see who will be proposed by the working group. Only the working group knows what has come out. Not what decisions they will make", Alimehmeti continued.
