The political leader of the Euro-Atlantic Coalition, Lulzim Basha, has commemorated the four young men who fell in Shkodra on April 2, 1991, Arben Broci, Bujar Bishanaku, Nazmi Kryeziu and Besnik Ceka, who were killed by the communist regime that tried to suppress calls for freedom.

In a post on social media, he emphasizes that those shootings were not just a crime, but the last gasps of a regime in agony. Basha further writes that April 2 is a permanent reminder of the strength of resistance and courage that led to the victory of freedom and democracy.

He expresses glory for the martyrs and respect for Shkodra that did not bow down.

Basha's full post:

Today we commemorate with honor and sorrow the four young men who fell in Shkodra on April 2, 1991, Arben Broci, Bujar Bishanaku, Nazmi Kryeziu and Besnik Ceka, who were killed by the communist regime because they dared to tell the dictatorship that its time was over.

Those shootings were not just a crime, they were the last gasps of a regime in agony in the face of a people who had chosen freedom and the West.

Shkodra did not kneel that day, Albania rose that day!

April 2 is not only a scar of injustice, but also a constant reminder that freedom and democracy are not forgiven, they are won with perseverance and courage.

Today, this effort continues. And in every step we take for change, in every battle we wage for justice, freedom, and dignity, we keep their sacrifice in our hearts.

Eternal glory to the martyrs of April 2!

Honor to Shkodra that never bowed down!
