Begaj receives the Chairman of the NATO Military Committee: Together we are stronger!

President Bajram Begaj, today received the Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone.

The Head of State, after congratulating him on his assignment and thanking him for choosing Albania for his first visit to the region, once again expressed his appreciation for NATO's mission and role.

President Begaj emphasized that NATO's presence in the region and KFOR's presence in Kosovo testify to the importance and attention that NATO pays to our region.

" To be together, to discuss together, to find solutions together because only if we are unified and together, we will be stronger. Peace and security are two magic words not only for our region in the times we are living. We must work hard to guarantee them", - said the President of the Republic.
The Head of State emphasized that we must support Kosovo to be part of international organizations and to increase cooperation within NATO and regional initiatives.
The President of the Republic emphasized that Albania has increased its defense budget, continues the modernization of the Armed Forces and has increased its representation in NATO missions and operations.

"It is very important, " President Begaj underlined, "to invest in infrastructure projects, such as Corridor VIII and the new port of Porto Romano, which achieve strategic connectivity and increase military mobility."
