Mero Baze considers the Democratic Party a private entity that serves the narrow interests of the Berisha family and has no value for Albanian society, so discussions about this party and its fate should be abandoned.
Invited to the show "The Unexposed" on MCN TV, Baze said that Berisha has declared himself a missionary, sent by God, and added that his issue is no longer political, but biological. Baze said that the DP will likely die out with Berisha, as new parties will advance during this time, leaving him behind.
"I think that there is no chance that anything will change in the Democratic Party. The fact that they accepted Berisha to put them in line and also accepted the fact that he will not be subject to the DP statute, which is a serious thing from an ethical point of view, a man who has proposed a law himself, an article to remove Basha, an article that whoever loses the elections for any reason leaves, the fact that he says that this is no longer valid, even though he has determined that even if there are allegations of vote theft, he will still leave, now he says I am God's messenger... This has nothing to do with it, it has to do with God, so God is now taking him along with the Democratic Party. He said I am God's messenger and now when he takes him, we can't deal with God.
It is no longer a political issue, but a biological issue and let biology solve it, politics cannot solve it. We cannot all of Albania sit around, discussing why Sali Berisha did not leave. Okay, when God takes him to leave, we have nothing to do with him, we will not go and kill Berisha to leave the Democratic Party, because the person no longer needs that party, a party subordinated in that way to a person, what does Albania need anymore?
What does the Albanian Democratic Party need? For ideas? A bunch of young girls and boys, 30-40 years old, educated abroad, who go after a leaky old man and say, "We need this, don't touch this..." Keep it!
I think it is a waste of time discussing the Democratic Party. This party is private to Sali Bersha, it will remain as it is for Sali Berisha.
