The world bids farewell to Pope Francis. In Albania, flags at half-mast! Rama

Today is a national day of mourning in Albania and according to the government's decision, flags in all institutions are lowered to half-mast.

Out of respect for the figure of Pope Francis, the Socialist Party has decided to cancel the electoral meetings planned for today, as part of the May 11 election campaign.

Prime Minister Edi Rama had planned to be in the Fier Region on Saturday, but will not travel.

Meanwhile, the leader of the DP, Sali Berisha, declared that he will continue his electoral meetings, but respecting some rules of the morgue, at the start of each meeting a minute of silence will be held and there will be no music.

The funeral ceremony of Pope Francis, attended from Albania by President Begaj with his wife, Minister Igli Hasani and Minister Adea Pirdenji, the Albanian Ambassador to the Vatican, Majlinda Frangaj, as well as the heads of religious communities, the head of the Catholic Church, Arjan Dodaj, the head of the Muslim Community, Bujar Spahiu, the Patriarch of the Bektashi Order, Haxhi Dede Edmond Brahimaj, and the Archbishop of the Orthodox Church, Joani.
